Our weekly services
Every week at Southern View Chapel we have four services that are open to the entire congregration. These include our main Sunday Morning Worship Service, the Sunday Classes that follow, a Sunday Evening Worship Service, and a Wednesday Evening Dinner and Study. A core feature of each of our services is a focus on accurately dividing the Word of God. More information on each of these services can be found below.
Sunday Morning Worship
9:00am – 10:15am
Our Sunday Morning service starts with a time of song and prayer. At Southern View Chapel we have a mix of classical and more modern worship, but all of our efforts through song are to glorify the Lord. Of course, following singing our senior Pastor Gary Gilley opens up the Word and preaches exegetically, typically out of the same book for several weeks.
Sunday School Classes
10:30am – 11:15am
Our Sunday School classes, unlike our sermons, tend to be more topical. We have had classes on Ethics, Friendship, Biblical Counseling Principles, and more. These classes rotate about every two months, and there are usually 3 or 4 classes available.
Sunday Evening Worship
5:00pm – 6:00pm
Our Sunday Evening service tends to be more casual than our Sunday Morning service. While we don’t have a dress code by any means, people tend to be more comfortable at this service. The content is similar to a Sunday Morning service: a time of singing and prayer, followed by an exegetical sermon, most often by Pastor Brian Gilley.
Wednesday Night Study
6:30pm – 7:30pm
On Wednesday nights we meet to study the Word. This service tends to be more in-depth, often because of the more fluid communication and discussion that’s held.
What about the kids?
Our Children’s Ministry page contains information about where our kids go during each of our services. A brief summary would be that our children have a place to go where they are also being fed from the Word during each of our services.
